Cutoff Trends: With only 210 vacancies this year, the competition has been fierce. The cutoff for the General category is expected to hover around **92-95 net questions** correct. Marks and Cutoff are usually released after the final selection process is complete, so candidates must rely on the Roll Number list for now.
📖 2. Mains Syllabus Overview
The Mains Exam consists of 8 Papers (1500 Marks):
- General Hindi: 150 Marks.
- Essay: 150 Marks.
- GS Paper 1-4: Standard General Studies (History, Geography, Polity, Ethics).
- GS Paper 5 & 6 (UP Special): Detailed study of Uttar Pradesh History, Culture, Economy, and Polity (Replaced Optional Subjects).

1. UP Special Focus: Since Papers 5 & 6 are relatively new, scoring high here can give you an edge. Focus on UP Government schemes and local geography.
2. Answer Writing: Start writing 3-4 answers daily. UPPSC questions are often direct but require factual density.
3. Hindi & Essay: These 300 marks are the most scoring. Do not neglect General Hindi grammar.
